The Islander

Wake up to the sounds of the ocean at The Islander! Located in the highly sought after West Beach area of Oak Island and renovated with hardwood flooring throughout, a brand new sectional couch, 4 bedrooms (2 King beds!), and spacious decks to soak in the panoramic views of the ocean!

After a morning on the beach, take a few steps to your beautiful beach bungalow and enjoy lunch on the spacious covered deck! Rinse off in the outdoor shower and relax in our open concept living room or have lunch on the covered back deck while you overlook the ocean!

About the Space:
Guests can enjoy a fully stocked kitchen with cooking essentials, spices, a Keurig Duo coffee maker, and everything needed to host your family and friends at the beach. The dining area provides seating for 4 with additional seating for 3 at the bar. The kitchen opens up to our spacious living room where guests can lounge and unwind after a day in the sun and enjoy natural lighting and coastal decor and Smart TV.

Off the living area boasts a large covered deck with dining for 6 and additional lounge seating where guests can soak in the sounds of the waves and catch breathtaking sunrises!

Under the house is plenty of space for parking along with an enclosed outdoor shower with cold and hot water. There is also a gas grill available for guest use and a stocked room of beach essentials such as chairs and beach toys!

The Bedrooms:
The Primary bedroom features windows with stunning ocean views, a king bed, and smart TV.
Second bedroom is located on the same side of the home as the Primary and is furnished with a Queen bed and smart TV.
The Third and Fourth bedrooms are on the other side of the home. The third bedroom features ocean views, a King bed, and smart TV. The fourth bedroom is furnished with a Twin over Full bunk bed.

Our home includes full linen service included in the cleaning fee! The best part? Arrive with beds made for you!

Pet friendly with payment of $150 pet fee. Up to 2 dogs under 80 lbs.

Check in is at 4 PM and Check out is at 10 AM. We are unfortunately unable to accommodate early check ins or late check outs during the summer months but can accommodate luggage drop off!

A Gem on the beach

This is our second time to stay at the Islander and it remains our favorite place! From sunrise to sunset spectacular views, to comfy beds, to everything you could possibly need in the kitchen The Islander is a gem! Check in, checkout is simple and easy. Kimberley is a prompt helpful communicator. A welcome bottle of wine is an appreciated gift after a long drive! We will be back next winter. Thank you!!

The trip to Oak Island was to celebrate our daughters birthday. We were 4 adults, a 5 year old and 2 dogs. The space was perfect! Enough bedrooms for everyone with bathrooms on each side of the house. Everything was well stocked and since we brought our own food, we lacked nothing. There are stores not too far away if needed, though. The house is pretty much right on the beach so the view was spectacular and it took no time at all to reach the waterfront. We really loved that aspect, especially with a 5 year old! I really can't say anything negative about our stay. Kimberly was extremely accommodating and responded to any question within about 10 minutes. We would absolutely visit Kimberly's home again if we return to Oak Island. Thank you so much for making it a more than pleasant stay! And I will say we lucked out in the weather department. It was supposed to rain but instead was sunny and warm.

Kimberly's beach house is exactly that!! It sits right on the beach. We enjoyed sitting on the deck people watching, listening to the waves and of course, the easy access to the BEACH. We will definitely be back.

Perfect Getaway

What a perfect place for family & friends to come together and enjoy incredible sunrises & sunsets from this south facing oceanfront cottage. The amenities were plentiful & comfortable. With two porches, four bedrooms, a spacious living/dining space, and the beach right off the back deck, there was plenty of space for us to relax at The Islander.

Spectacular ocean views, sunrises, and sunsets from the deck or windows! House well appointed in a great location! Bed comfortable and the kitchen had everything you could want or need including a spice rack! The bottles of wine were a welcoming touch after a long drive! Kimberly was very responsive and accommodated a last minute add on day and Kara was helpful via phone! If you are planning a trip to Oak Island this is the place to stay!

Kim was a great host- super communicative and a pleasure to work with. The home was everything we needed and the view is incredible- feels like you’re on the water! After a long day working, my friend and I both slept like logs. So peaceful! It’s also a very family friendly place too- would love to come back with the kiddos!

This was a lovely oceanfront home that was super cozy with a great use of the space provided. Had everything we wanted and more. The outside covered balcony overlooking the ocean was absolutely amazing. Would certainly rebook this home again in the future. Thank you to the hosts for creating such a welcoming and comfy home.

Kimberly was above and beyond my expectation! Especially with the weather playing not so nice! This place is exactly as described and definitely returning next year! Love the location and host's hospitality!

This was an amazing 5 days for my family. We have 2 toddlers and a 9year old and they had the best time daily on the beach. We spent 4 to 5 hours per day on the beach. There were plenty of beach toys and equipment. OakIsland is a charming town with great ice cream shops, we went to a different 1 each evening. Neighborhood and neighbors were very friendly. The beach is excellent and super clean, no pollution. The house location is perfect with easy access to beach and the outdoor shower is ideal for sandy feet (just remember to bring or buy some beach towels). We spent all our time outdoors and very little in the house. The outdoor patio is perfect for all meals and relaxing. I highly recommend staying here if you love the beach, outdoors and nature.

This oceanfront bungalow delivered a great experience. Awesome views, easy beach access and a well equipped for a fun beach getaway. We appreciated the Host's attention to detail, nicely stocked kitchen, fine linens and the location was perfect. We had a great time chillin' in Oak Island.
